What is Red Cross Youth?

The Red Cross Youth is the youth programme of the Philippine National Red Cross. It's mission is to educate children and youth in the spirit of Red Cross and provide opportunities for directing and harnessing their energy and idealism into wothwhile activities within the framework of the organization.

Objectives of the RCY

1. Advocacy and Inculcation of Moral Values and Character Building
2. Protection of Life and Promotion of community Health
3. Service and Solidarity
4. National / International Friendship, Understanding and Education for Peace
5. Dissemination of the Red Cross Seven Fundamental Principles

Red Cross Youth Focus in Nueva Ecija

1. Junior First Aiders Program (JFAP) - for Elementary members who are trained in Leadership, First Aid and Basic Life Support (Adult/Child CPR) who will become the counterpart of the school clinic in responding to minor emergencies.

2. RCY Kaagapay ng Barangay (RCY KABARANGAY) - a group of proactive members, particularly from our HS, College and Community councils, who will assist the community during disasters. Members of this special response team will be trained in leadership, drug abuse & HIV/AIDS prevention, first aid, basic life support, disaster nursing and disaster response.

3. Pledge 25 - open to all members who pledges to donate blood from 18 to 25 years old. Donation scheme is three to four times a year. The member will receive an ATM type of membership ID and other gift articles after every donation.

Our Model. The former CYC President, Czarina Loy C. Roque on Voluntary Blood Donation. She pledged to donate blood until she reaches 25 years old three (3) to four (4) times a year. Currently there are six others who are members of this youth blood donor's group namely--- CSR-RCY Francis Albert Mendoza, and RCY volunteers Jayson, Marvin, Macoy, Niña and Leomar.
